Grand Portage State Park, Minnesota

grand portage high falls

By far the most spectacular waterfall in Minnesota and the easiest to access, the High Falls on the Pigeon River sits right on the US-Canadian Border north of Grand Portage.    In fact, you can see Canadians viewing the waterfall from across the river. The High Falls is 120 feet high and is the tallest waterfall in Minnesota.  There is a visitor center, from which there is a handicapped accessible boardwalk .5 miles out to the falls with a couple of scenic overlooks.  It is by far the easiest falls to access on the North Shore and the most breathtaking.
