Temperance River State Park is north of Schroeder on Highway 61. The trail begins with an easy walk from the parking lot to the overlook for Hidden Falls, which is hard to spot in a gorge.
According to a sign at the overlook, this used to be the site of the widest waterfall in Minnesota (at 300 feet), which shrunk when the glaciers retreated from Minnesota.
For a better view of the Hidden Falls, plus other smaller waterfalls, walk up a moderate climb (there is a bit of climbing up a rock stairs) where you end up at a bridge and a couple more waterfalls.
Go up the upstream side to see them best. The bridge will take you to the other side of the falls, where there is also a trail to return you to the parking lot.
